Someone Else Hits it by Accident?
Dear Sean, Can you hit the ball before it bounces? Also, if a ball bounces in someone's square, but someone else hits it by accident, who is out?

The 2009 indoor season is over and after the night of the Final Formal Banquet it's important that we show off who our season champions turned out to be. We have almost all of their faces recorded in photos and it's worth a spin through the 2009 gallery to see who they were.
Dear Sean, Here is a new custom rule, "popcorn". This means any player may hit the ball as many times as he wants in the air after it has bounced once in his square. This rule is similar to double taps.
Justine Petrillo (right) and Christina Laverentz (left) received a special personal visit and congratulations from the Vice Mayor of the City of Cambridge, Sam Seidel (center), today at our final scored game of the four square season. Justine is the three time ladies world champion of four square, vetted during the past three years in Bridgton, ME. Christina is this year's runner up to the title.

Yesterday, on Feb 28, 2009, in Bridgton, Maine, the 5th Annual Four Square World Championships once again drew 100+ in registered competitors for five major division titles.
Players ranged from as nearby in Maine as Belfast, Portland, Cape Elizabeth, and Bridgton itself. Players from Burlington, VT, and various upstate NY locales turned up. A strong contingent from Boston based Squarefour put on a great show. From even further reaches, players flew in from Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Florida.
Dear Sean and Peter, On behalf of our family and the entire Cape Elizabeth contingent, we just wanted to thank you for a great experience on Saturday night. You put on a terrific event but even better was the goodwill and sportsmanship shown by all. Everything was well run, friendly and pretty funny too!
Squarefour would like to issue an official thank you to Peter Lowell, the head honcho at the Lakes Environmental Association in Bridgton, ME, who dreamed up the Four Square World Championships so many years ago. It's clear that without his initiative and hard work that the Champs would never have gotten off the ground nor would they have grown into such an excellent event.
Chris Glasser was awarded the Men's Four Square World Championship title on Feb 28, 2009. This is the first time in the five year history of the world champs that the men's title has come home to the Boston area. Chris, currently from Somerville, MA, yet clearly holding some affiliation with Louisville, is pictured here with his towering golden trophy.
Justine Petrillo of Cambridge, MA, returned home with yet another Four Square World Championship title. This makes Justine a three time champion, setting the record for both cumulative and consecutive women's world champ awards.
The rumor has just been confirmed that Dana Ostberg, the world's first and second women's world champion of four square will be returning to Bridgton, ME, on Feb 28, 2009, for another shot at the title. Ostberg, now hailing from Baltimore, MD, took home both the 2005 and 2006 women's title in the two first years of the world championships and has been rivaled by only Justine Petrillo of Cambridge, MA, who holds the women's titles from 2007 and 2008.
Please leave your gasoline at home because we anticipate some sparks.
