The Mauve Avengers were awarded the Team World Championship trophy for putting on the best showing at the Four Square World Championships on Feb 28, 2009, in Bridgton, ME.

You guys have to help me here. Who are the Mauve Avengers, where did this team come from, and what are their names. They came and went so quickly that I hardly had a chance to learn anything about them.

Starting at the far right and going clockwise: Nick Oliverio, Amanda "Domino" Rouillard, Doug "Cornbeaf" Connell, Melissa "Cobra" Woodman, Owen "Spyder" Sullivan, and Kevin "Kevlar" Connell.

In 2008, Nick and I found out about the championship and decided to stop in after we toured the University of New England. We had loved playing foursquare in school, but did not realize how many other people still loved the sport as passionately as we did.

We knew that we needed to come back the following year. This time, we were prepared. We recruited some of our friends from school (we all go to school in Foxboro, MA) who were crazy about foursquare and tried to think up a good team name. The name "Mauve Avenger" is inspired by a joke in the old cartoon "Hey, Arnold!" where they combine two busted go-carts, the "Dark Avenger" and the "Mauve Storm", into one super go-cart, "The Mauve Avenger".

We really couldn't be happier to win this award and hope to be more involved with you guys in the future!

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA KEVIN YOU DOG... YOU ARE NOW THE FOUR SQUARE PLAYERS OF LEGEND! AN UNSTOPPABLE FORCE - FEARED BY MOST, ADMIRED BY ALL.
