Four Square Videos

Interviews with the Champs

The Four Square World Championships took place on February 16, 2008, in Bridgton, ME. It's tough to pin down top notch, world class players, but with our exclusive access to the locker rooms we managed to get a few statements. Featured here are Tommy Stockwell (Senior Men's Champ), Justine Petrillo (Women's Champ), Cody MacDonald (Men's Champ) and Peter Lowell, founder of the Four Square World Championships.

World Champs Predictions

At our most recent league game on Feb 3, we took some time to make predictions on the outcome of the pending Four Square World Championships. Boston's Squarefour has made a good showing at each of the past three Champs and some of our league members are gearing up to attack the title - either with their skills or their trash talk. And, lets face it, there is a good chance that the 2008 mens World Champ will have a beard.

Featuring Christina

Take a moment to learn about one of the women of the Boston four square scene, Christina. She's one of the few who play hard and aren't afraid of bouncing off the floor for a good play. She may attribute her bloodlust and abandon to a serious lack of balance, but we on the court know better...

Highlights from Game 2

Check out the video highlights of our game two on 12/3/07 and see Marc land on his face, Kerry run for the door, Yutaka totally shut down three square, Tiger Claw dance like a pretty ballerina. Any of you sizing up the competition for the rest of the season will get a sense of skill level and general attendance in this short minute video.

We go to the pub, frequently.

An aspect of our league which gets less publicity are the post-game pub runs in Central Square. We've settled back into our original home, the Phoenix Landing, after a long stint at some other, lesser pubs. The Phoenix has good cheap eats and an atmosphere conducive to talking trash without yelling over the television sets.

Pete at the Skills Workshop

We hav a chance to talk to Pete very very quickly at the skills workshop. He was anxious to get back in line and play some four square but he did have a moment to flaunt his title and comment on what fun our league is before he ran off.

Preseason Street Four Square

Christian Housh was kind enough to host a preseason event for last year's four square members at his home in Cambridge. Christian (aka Tiger Claw) takes a moment between grilling meat and tending baby to 'splain us how he built out his in-street four square court under the difficult fluctuations of the fall weather.

Pickup Four Square Rained Out...

A quick message from a very disappointed Sean who sits at the side of a rained out four square opportunity. This video was produced with the help of a dinky cell phone.
