Jason McGibbon takes home the the Player's Choice award, nominated by the 8 men's finalists, for his "amazingness" and "bringing the hustle" to the Four Square World Championships in Bridgeton, ME, on Feb 16, 2008. This is no surprise to us here at Squarefour. Jason has been playing four square with our Boston based group for many years now, making a four hour round-trip from Amherst, MA each weekend just to bring it on.
Our newest entry into the Four Square Hall of Pain, this young player shredded his pants and flesh in a death defying clobber against his fellow grade schoolers. This injury was proudly earned at the Four Square World Championships in Bridgton, ME, on February 16, 2008.
Dear Sean, I'm a student at California Polytechnic State University and I am planning on giving a speech about four square, simply because it is a silly personal interest of mine. I am looking for an expert opinion, that i could possibly cite in my speech, on different aspects of the sport. I was wondering if there is anything else not mentioned in your web site that would be interesting for a class of college students to hear. If you happen to know any history of the sport itself, not necessarily the league, then that would be helpful. Please get back to me with any information you have as soon as possible.
Dear Sean, I just started a four square club at the University of Michigan. It's been a lot of fun and pretty successful so far, but recently one of our rules has been disputed, which is that you can't hit any overhand shots. We put it in place to prevent huge cherry bombs and cheap shots, but I went to research other clubs' rules and found your site. What's your reasoning behind allowing overhand shots?

Now that Squarefour is becoming more and more of an official source of four square rules and information, its time to freaking blog about it. In an effort to create even more of a public resource, we proudly present Dear Sean. Please feel free to send us all your four square related questions so we totally answer the crap out of them in a public forum.
Now is the time for you early bird members to get on board. Our season is laid out ahead of us from the end of November until late March, and we have a bunch of fun pre-season events in the works. Take some time to look over our calendar and check our rates and make some decisions.
If you have played with us before then you already know that your membership fees get you access to games and playtime, shirts and scores, extra-extra-curricular events, and membership into a team of really fun and amazing people whom you'll get to really know well. But if you haven't played with us, well, then, you should take the opportunity to "try it before you buy it" on Oct 28 at our pre-season skills workshop.
Our joint fundraiser was a huge hit on June 14, drawing more than 100 people together for a night of serious four square play, serious fun and other serious business. Almost 1400 games of four square were played this evening (1393, actually, close enough). Our top winners received prizes including memberships to the YMCA of Cambridge, office lunch packages from Picante, ice cream from Toscanini's, and tons of other excellent prizes.
