This was my first interaction with four square game. Least equipment, small playground and few players are the feature of the game which make it likable. Objective of four square is to get another player out. It requires a lot of strategy and skills.

My teacher, [ when I was in 5th Grade --- 1967 - 1968 School Year ] --- was Mrs Betty Ann Clarke. I was fortunate to have Mrs Clarke as my teacher, for 3rd, 5th and 8th Grades. She was a fantastic woman. In 5th Grade, Mrs Clarke had told the class how she invented 4 square, in College. She advised it was a course requirement - to develop a game --- for her Phys-Ed. [Mrs Clarke concentrated on Phys-Ed - in College]. I'm estimating that Mrs Clarke would have attended college in the early 1930's. Mrs Clarke was a very honest person, and I would not doubt her word on this subject. The various schools I know that Mrs Clarke taught at, were .... San Joaquin Elementary - Ripon CA [Now Closed] River School, Ripon CA [Now Closed] and Ripon Junior High, Ripon CA, [Still an active school]
